Wuoi Machar, a leader of the displacement community in South Sudan’s capital Juba, says that seven women have gone missing from the camp including two girls and a child on Wednesday after they left the camp to collect wood in a forest near the UN House base in Jebel.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Machar said the women left the camp Wednesday afternoon to collect wood and never returned back until now.
He pointed that the two girls are nine and ten years and the four women are in their fourties.
Machar added that women always go out from the camp to collect wood and sell it to earn a living but this is the first incident of its kind, saying they have informed the security authorities and UNMISS to look for the missing women.
Separately, the camp leader said the humanitarian conditions of the displaced people are very dire especially for women and children after the food portion they got from the UN finished.
