Education authorities in South Sudan’s Jubek State announced that about 7,217 pupils out of 8,847 candidates who sat this year’s Primary Leaving Examinations have passed.
Wani Ladu, Director General at the Jubek Ministry of Education, said at a press conference held in Juba on Monday that the pupils who passed the exams represents 82%, saying those pupils are eligible to join secondary schools for further education.
Wani pointed out that the best done subjects in the final examination were science, Christian Religious Education, English, social studies and mathematics.
The director general explained that about 3,110 girls out of 3,887 candidates who sat for Primary Leaving Education have passed the examinations with 80 percent.
“This is just a difference of 3 percent with male pupils whose performance is at 83 percent, so the female pupils have greatly improved in this year results,” Ladu said.
