61 SPLM-IO members to go to Jonglei State

The government of Jonglei State on Tuesday said they have been given a list of 61 SPLM-IO advance team members to receive in their state for peace implementation.

Governor John Kong said all state government organs have been urged to work with the opposition team on the implementation of the agreement.

Jodi Jonglei, the state information minister, told Radio Tamazuj that a recption team has been formed to welcome the opposition members.

“The governor told the officials that the opposition advanced team will come and need support from them. They will need to be accompanied by the government allies so that the locals will be able to understand them as they talk,” Jodi said.

He said the delegates to Jonglei will be led by former SPLA army general Yen Orol.

“They will even go up to the counties, payam and even bomas in order for the village members to get the implementation of the peace agreement and will understand what it means to have peace with the rebel group of Riek Machar,” he added.

A week ago, President Kiir had a meeting with the governors of the ten states, urging them to adopt his policy of implementation of the peace agreement to their state governments.
