Six Misseriya herdsmen were killed in the eastern part of the disputed area of Abyei between Sudan and South Sudan yesterday, according to multiple sources in both the Abyei area and the Misseriya heartland in the western sector of South Kordofan.

The nomads were on their way to a cattle camp when they were attacked by the armed robbers. Unknown armed militia robbed hundreds of their cows.

Some sources also said that some of the cattle were recovered and the security situation is now stable in the area.
