Six people were killed including two girls and more were wounded in a cattle raid in Aweil East county of South Sudan’s Northern Bahr el Ghazal state, police said.
Northern Bahr el Ghazal police commissioner Mareng Deng told Radio Tamazuj the raiders attacked Mayen Thou area and stole 150 cattle.
He said seven people injured were taken to hospital in Malual Akon while two people in critical condition were sent to Aweil town.
Deng accused local militia of being behind the attack.
Peace conference concludes
Separately, Northern Bahr el Ghazal border relations adviser Kuol Athaui said a Rizeigat and Dinka Malual peace conference has concluded in Aweil town.
Kuol said the conference was to review previous agreements between the two sides and to organize the ongoing migration of Arab nomads into South Sudan.
