6 killed, child abducted in Boma state attack

At least six people were killed, one injured and a child abducted when a group of eight travellers walking from Pibor to Pochalla were ambushed by suspected armed Murle tribesmen near Ashawa village in South Sudan’s Boma State last month, a former local official said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Ogebe Omot Ochan, former deputy mayor of Pibor town said the incident happened on July 17.

Ochan further said the six people were killed on the spot including the parents of the abducted child.

Meet Ojwok, who is the Chairman of Greater Adongo Youth in South Sudan, condemned the attack and urged Boma state government to bring the perpetrators to book.
