Six children abducted by armed youths in Tambura County of Western Equatoria State in mid-May have been handed over to their families, a local official said.

The incident reportedly occurred when the armed youths attacked a camp that belonged to the Ambororo tribe in Yangiri village.

Aggrey Brown Soro, the Secretary-General of the defunct Tambura State, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the six children – two boys and four girls – were in good health during the handover.

Mohamed Ahmed Mohamed, who received the six children on behalf of their families, said two other children and their mother are still missing. He urged authorities to continue searching for the missing children and their mother.
