At least five people have been killed and two others injured in an attack on Malon Pec County in South Sudan’s Gok State last week, a local official said.
Gok’s Information Minister John Madol Panther told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that gunmen believed to be from Tonj State launched an attack on the area where they killed five people and wounded two others.
The state minister said the attackers raided cattle during the incident.
For his part, Tonj state deputy governor, Manhiem Bol said that he received information about the incident.
Bol said they were working with security forces in Tonj to identify the criminals and search for the stolen cattle to be return to their rightful owners in Malon Pec.
