About 45 students, including 28 women were on Thursday awarded certificates after completing a 5-month training in tailoring and electrical and computer courses at Jonglei Christian Vocational Boarding School (JCVBS).

Addressing the gathering during the graduation ceremony on Thursday, Jacob Agany, the school’s principal congratulated the graduates for completing their courses and urged them to seize the opportunity for their own benefit and development.

The school official also pointed out that they have denoted tailoring machines to 5 vulnerable students.

For his part, Jonglei Education Minister Ayom Mach Jok urged the local youth to join vocational schools for job opportunities.

“You (students) have to go and work hard. And I advise the parents and husbands that you have to facilitate the learning of your daughters by selling out your cows and goats so that you support them. After sometimes, they will return your money and she will stand on her own, “he said.
