At least four people were killed and another wounded in inter-communal clashes among sections of the Gok community in Cueibet County of Lakes State, a police officer said.

The clashes occurred in Citcok Payam on Saturday.

Col. Machar Muorwel Madol, the acting police commissioner of the county, told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that the incident happened among sections of Ruruot at a cattle camp in Madingkunyuk area.

"We went and managed to separate the fight among them. We are now pursuing after the suspects who caused violence,” he said.

Separately, Madol said armed men suspected to be from the Pakam community of Rumbek North raided 15 cattle in the area of Leya. "No one was killed or wounded. Only 15 cows were raided and the armed raiders headed towards Rumbek North,” he explained.
