The Sudan Peoples’ Liberation Movement, North (SPLM-N) has accused the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) of carrying out aerial bombardment yesterday on the area of Yabous, Blue Nile state, killing four civilians.

Arno Nogotolu, SPLM-N spokesman, told Radio Tamazuj that SAF dropped four bombs on residential areas including Tangali, Bala, and Mafo, resulting in the death of four civilians, including a child.

“On the 4th of March at 10 pm a Sudanese Antonov carried out an air attack on the civilians’ areas killing and injuring a great number of citizens. We condemn this aggressive deed and crime committed by the NCP,” Arno stated, referring to the governing National Congress Party.

He claimed that the bombardment also wounded three others and created panic amongst the residents, although Radio Tamazuj hasn’t been able to get confirmation of the attacks from Khartoum.

Blue Nile state has suffered clashes between the SPLM-N and SAF throughout recent weeks which led SAF to withdraw from south Kurmuk.  SAF have since deployed reinforcements to the area.
