At least four people were killed and more than 10 others injured during an armed cattle raid in South Sudan’s Gok State on Saturday.

At least four people were killed and more than 10 others injured during an armed cattle raid in South Sudan’s Gok State on Saturday.

Gok State Information Minister John Madhol Panthier told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday, that an armed group launched an attack on the village of Apero in Cuiebet County killing 4 people and injuring 15 others.

Madhol said those injured are receiving medical attention at the county health facility.

He added that the attackers also made away with dozens of cattle.

The minister appealed to authorities in the neighbouring in the counties to ensure all civilians in the region are disarmed for safety and security purposes.
