4 killed, 5 injured in different incidents in Eastern Equatoria

At least 4 people were killed and 5 were injured in different incidents since Friday until Monday in Magwi County in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Rev. Augustin Michael from the Catholic Church in the area said two youth were killed and two others were injured Friday evening in communal clashes between Farjok and Obwo communities in relation to the new Establishment Order for creation of 28 states in South Sudan.

He added that the clash was over competition for who will be the commissioner of one of the new counties before the intervention of the local authorities and religious leaders.

Separately, Michael revealed that two traders were killed and three were injured Monday afternoon in attacks by unknown gunmen on their vehicle on the Magwi-Nimule road.
