At least four people have been killed and15 others wounded in an attack on the area of Pakam in Western Lakes State over the weekend, a local official said.
Daniel Buoi, the state adviser for cross-border relations, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that gunmen believed to be from Panyijiar and Ganyiel areas in Unity region had attacked a cattle camp in the area.
He pointed out that the attack resulted in the killing of four people and wounding of 15 others on Sunday and Monday.
He noted that Western Lakes State has been relatively peaceful for the last few months but the latest incident caused insecurity.
Local officials in Panyijiar and Ganyiel could not be reached for comment.
