Four family members died while four others injured today when a vehicle they were travelling in burst tyres and overturned along the Juba-Nimule highway.
The accident occurred near Nesitu area, about 92 kilometres from Uganda-South Sudan Nimule border point.
Col. James Dak, deputy spokesman of South Sudan police, told Radio Tamazuj that the car involved in the accident had members of one family on board who were travelling to Uganda to attend a wedding.
“Among the victims on board was Second Lieutenant Salwa Ali, a South Sudan traffic police officer who was working at Malakia Police Station in Juba,” he said.
He pointed out that the wounded people were taken to Juba Teaching Hospital for treatment.
