Four boys were abducted by armed assailants in Ayod County of Jonglei State on Monday evening, authorities said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Ayod County Commissioner James Chuol Jiek said the children are members of the same family, and they were abducted while having a meal.
“The incident took place in Kwach-Deng Payam. They are aged 3, 3, 4, and 6, and they are all members of the same family. The assailants attacked their house and took them while dinning,” he said.
The County Commissioner accused armed Murle youth from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) of involvement in the attack, and urged GPAA to help recover them.
GPAA Information Minister Jacob Werchum Jouk said they were not aware of the incident and that they were yet to investigate it.
