About 390 families in Nyala, the capital of Sudan’s South Darfur state, are in bad conditions after the local authorities began to demolish their houses.
A number of citizens whose houses were demolished told Radio Tamazuj that they are living under the sun after the land authorities begun to demolish their house and claimed they want to demarcate the area where they were living.
They pointed that they have been living in the area since 1990 and that the land authorities in 1993 began to survey the area and to hand them the land but since then they did not complete the process.
They added that they were surprised with the demolition process started last Friday. The families called on the authorities to compensate them in the nearest possible time.
