A trader in Turalei in market says an unknown group of people broke into his shop over the weekend and stole 38 bags of sorghum.
Akuei Akuei Deng told a local radio station that he locked his shop on Friday evening before he went home. Deng says he found the door was broken and his sorghum gone.
“They were stolen on date 16 January on Saturday night. I don’t understand up to now what the thief used to transport this number of sorghum. Is it donkey cart or vehicle? We don’t know that the police who are in the market are not doing their duties. The police cannot sleep at night they must move at night in the market to know what is going on there,” he said.
Majok Mayom Malual, a CID sergeant, says the case is reported and they are now looking for the suspect. He said the case was only reported to them by midday, which hindered investigations.
“They were supposed to open the case early to identify the footsteps of those people and what types of transport was being used. Is it bicycle, motorbike or vehicle? Then it will be known by Criminal Investigation Department. So we sent messages to our offices in the payams to arrest anyone who will be found selling this number of sorghum without proper document,” said Majok.
