37 killed in clashes between Al-Hammer clans in West Kordofan

At least 37 people were killed in inter-communal clashes between two clans from Al-Hammer tribe in Sudan’s West Kordofan.

The Editor in Chief of Al-Zajel online newspaper in Al-Nuhod town said Fakhdi al-Jammanea and Awlad Subaih clans clashed in Shag al-Hadana area northern of Al-Nuhod town last Tuesday.

The clashes between the two clans were reportedly over cattle raid of al-Jammanea by Awlad Subaih month ago.

The Editor in Chief called on the authorities to send forces to stop the clashes and calm down the situation, claiming the clashes occurred due to absence of peaceful coexistence and reconciliation conferences in the area.
