34 villages attacked in North Darfur

10,000 people have been displaced by attacks on 34 villages in North Darfur's Kutum locality in early December, the UN's office of humanitarian affairs reported.

At least five people were killed and 14 of the villages were burned to the ground, the UN said. Residents have fled to the mountains to hide and may need food.
