315 civilians still sheltering in UNMISS base in Mundri

315 South Sudanese citizens are still sheltering in the United Nations 'Temporary Operating Base' in Mundri West town of Western Equatoria state following clashes in the area over the past year, according to a report by the International Organization for Migration (IOM).

Another 2000 civilians have set up camp just outside the base for protection. These people are some of between 56,000 and 64,000 people displaced in all of Mundri West county by fighting, according to various estimates, IOM said.

Other areas of displacement in Mundri West are Bangalo, Gariya, Ladingwa, Mundri Town, and Kotobi.

Some 200,000 civilians are sheltering in various UN bases around South Sudan for fear of violence outside.
