3000 people have been stranded in the bush around Ezo in South Sudan’s Western Equatoria state for more than two months amid continuing clashes between youth and SPLA in the area.
County Executive Director Losiano Jay Ekidi told Radio Tamazuj Monday that people fled their homes after their homes were destroyed during fighting.
Ekidi said they have registered a number of affected families with the Relief and Rehabilitation Commission.
He noted that there is fear among the displaced people to return home because of lack of police in the area to protect them.
The local official said they are sending police forces to protect the displaced people in the area.
Last week UNHCR said it was going to evacuate 150 people who they were in touch with around Ezo.
