The peacekeeping mission in Darfur donated 300 beds and mattresses to El Daein Hospital in East Darfur on Monday. The hospital is the only healthcare facility in the state, as noted by a statement of the African Union-United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID)
Mohamed Yonis, a senior UNAMID official, was present to hand over the items to the hospital. He also met during his visit the deputy governor of the state, Abdel al-Majeed al-Zair Abdallah, and native administration leaders.
Meanwhile, the head of the Darfur Regional Authority, al-Tijani Sese, was also visiting the state with a delegation of Qatari officials.
