Authorities in Wito County in South Sudan’s Amadi State say citizens are experiencing deteriorating humanitarian conditions due to lack of basic services.
Wito County Commissioner Michael Majana Peter told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the conflict has affected service delivery in his county.
He said that about three women died during childbirth this month due to poor primary healthcare in Wito County.
“This month, about three women have died during childbirth. I have now come to the state government to look for support. We also need an ambulance to transport patients to the state capital for treatment,” he said.
Separately, the local official has raised a complaint over lack of mobile network services in his county.” The issue of mobile network is also a priority,” he said.
Commissioner Michael also complained they are faced with a shortage of trained teachers, saying there are three primary schools in the county.
