The Government of Western Equatoria State over the weekend gave three state ministers a week’s ultimatum to report to their duty station after being absent from work for long.

The state’s information minister, Isaac Mursal, told Radio Tamazuj that the directive was given by Governor Alfred Futuyo Karaba to Cabinet Affairs Minister Charles Barayona during the State Council of Ministers on Friday.

The three ministers are William Baiki, Minister of Finance, Wilson John Ada, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Christopher Benjamin, Minister of Peacebuilding.

“The three ministers have stayed for many months in Juba without reporting to their offices and the governor has given that responsibility to the minister of cabinet affairs to follow up and call those ministers and find out why they are not coming to their workplaces because there is some work stuck in their offices,” Minister Mursal said.

Efforts to reach the three ministers for comment were futile.
