Three South Sudanese army soldiers were killed by a suspected Equatorian rebel group and a vehicle belonging to the army was destroyed during shooting incidents in the last three days in Mankaro area of Central Equatoria State.
Local sources claimed the three SPLA soldiers were killed by unknown gunmen after shooting in the air scaring residents so as to loot deserted houses.
The sources said also that they saw a Land Cruiser vehicle belonging to the SPLA lying destroyed in Mankaro. They did not mention how the vehicle was destroyed and who destroyed it.
Kaitigiri is now occupied by the SPLA but rebels are present in surrounding areas.
