Three people have been arrested and two restaurants shut down for flouting hygiene rules in Kuacjok town in South Sudan’s Gogrial state on Wednesday, a municipal official said.
The mayor of Kuacjok town Ms. Asunta Yar Akol said they decided to arrest the three people after being caught violating food safety rules when a general cleaning was conducted in the main market.
She pointed out that the three people were arrested as part of their policy to help improve food safety standards considerably in the town.
The municipal official pointed out that the arrested people will be investigated and face the law if found guilty.
