At least 3 young men were arrested last week at Manyang-Ngok County in Tonj State in connection with the death of Gok State border adviser.
Manyang-Ngok County Commissioner Moses Riing Deng told Radio Tamazuj that three men are suspected to have participated in the killing of Mayek Deng, Gok State border adviser in a road ambush late last month.
“The government has arrested the suspects in order to get the accurate information because the information was passed wrongly that they are the ones and there was no evidence. We arrested them and they are now under investigation and the border is safe,” Riing said.
Deng further stated that the three suspects are from his county and were arrested in order to provide more information about the death of the official.
For his part, Gok State minister for local government and law enforcement, Abraham Mayom Malek confirmed to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that they have officially received information from Tonj State government that some suspects have been arrested over the incident and if found guilty will face the law.
