Three men were arrested in connection to the murder of a boda-boda operator in in the town of Bor in South Sudan’s Jonglei state last week, a top police officer said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday evening, Chol Atem, the police commissioner in Jonglei state said police authorities arrested the suspects after they received information about the boda-boda rider was found dead on 17 January at Kueyngo neighborhood. He pointed out that investigations are underway.
“We opened the case against the three suspects. We also confiscated the motorcycle and found the gun they used,” he said.
The police said that the police and other organized forces are still carrying out night patrolling in the area to protect citizens of Bor town.
Last year, a Ugandan boda-boda operator was found dead along the Mareng-Bor road. But nobody was arrested in connection to the incident.
