At least three people have been confirmed dead after armed youth from Yirol West and Rumbek East counties of Lakes State clashed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The clashes occurred in the Til-kuc areas of Rumbek East County.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the deputy executive director of Alualuak Payam of Yirol West County Daniel Ichok Dhieu said two of those killed are from Rumbek East County while one person is from Mapuordit Payam of Yirol West County.
Ichok identified the three as Anhiem Alath, Chien Majok Akara, and Manyang Turic. He said the police have started patrolling the road between the two counties to maintain security.
"The criminals met in the Til-kuc area for cattle exchange, and this is where they started to fight themselves leaving two people dead on the spot. Yesterday at 8:00 pm the criminals came to Mapuordit and they managed to kill one person," said Ichok.
The acting commissioner of police in Yirol Town Daniel Maghor Deng said they have been informed of the revenge killings but assured that the security situations are generally calm in Yirol West including the main high ways.
