Three people were killed and four wounded Tuesday night at Majak County in northern Abyei, the disputed region between Sudan and South Sudan.
Achuel Akol, Abyei Minister of information, told Radio Tamazuj that around 9:00pm armed men suspected to be Messeriya attacked the Majak county headquarters, killing two boys around 15 years of age and an old man. The three injured were all women, Akol said.
Majak County executive director Chol Adhol Majok added that five children are missing.
Akol said they attackers stole 181 cattle in the attack but the UNISFA forces managed to recovered 176.
Majok asked the governments of Sudan and South Sudan to decide the issue of Abyei region quickly because too many people are dying.
On Monday, four people were also reported killed by a suspected Messeriyia milita at Lou Payam in Majak County.
