Three brothers allegedly shot at each other to death in Duk County of South Sudan's Jonglei State on Thursday. The cause of the quarrel is yet to be established, a local official said.

Elijah Manyok, the acting county commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj Friday that the incident took place after a quarrel among the deceased at their home in Duk Padiet town on Thursday evening.

“The three brothers quarreled, then they rushed to their guns and killed themselves. They are aged between 20 and 25. They are called Jakor Deng Jany, Hoth Deng Jany, and Bol Jany Ring,” he explained.

“Investigations are still ongoing to establish the cause of the quarrel as they the brothers died on the spot,” he added.

The local official, however, blamed the incident on the presence of weapons in the hands of civilians.
