250 pupils pass primary exam in Maridi County

Results released by the Maridi County Education Department on Monday indicate a high pass rate for the 270 pupils who sat the examination in 2015, a year of significant security disruptions in the county.

Out of the 270 pupils who sat the exam – 85 girls and 185 boys – from 13 primary schools in Maridi Central Payam and Mambe Payam, 255 pupils successfully passed and 15 pupils’ failed – 9 boys and 6 girls — making a rate of 94.4% pupils who passed.

Maridi County Education Director Elia Zakariah says the result was good compared to the previous years despite the insecurity in the state. He says Maridi County successfully made it in the second position in the former Western Equatoria State after Ibba and Mvolo counties, which passed 100% of their students.

Zakariah says 6 of 13 schools successfully passed 100% of their pupils with no fails .These schools include Haddow Primary, SDA Adventist Primary, Don Bosco Primary, SPC Hillside Primary, SDA Adventists Model Primary and Town Primary.
