Twenty three (23) families of returnees and eighty six (86) other individuals arrived at Awiel the capital of Northern Bahr-el-Ghazal on Wednesday after staying three months in Juba on their trip from Khartoum.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj the senior officer of the state IDPs commission Deng Kuel said “These are the IDPs who were transported from Khartoum three months ago and they came by land after a week of travelling.”
Kuel said the commission started distributing aid and are preparing to give them land for residence. The senior officer also revealed that the IOM has expressed its readiness to airlift the elderly, sick and children on Thursday from Khartoum to Aweil airport.
