The Chairman and Commander-in-Chief of the rebel outfit South Sudan People’s Movement/Army (SSPM/A), Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang, has appointed a new spokesperson for his rebel movement.
A letter of appreciation written by Eng. Mahafis Mayang Hoth, the rebel outfit’s outgoing Chairperson of the National Committee for Information and Communication Technology and Official Spokesman, which was extended to Radio Tamazuj, thanked Gen. Buoy for the opportunity to serve.
The newly named replacement is Bush Akech Chol.
“I would like to extend my appreciation to the entire family of the South Sudan People’s Movement/Army (SSPM/A) under the leadership of Gen. Stephen Buay Rolnyang for the trust placed in me from early 2013 to this very day, 1 October 2024,” the letter reads in part. “Thank you, Cde Chairman, for allowing me to serve as our movement’s official spokesman for such a long time. I trust that anything I did not fulfill will be completed by my successor. Leadership changes are quite normal. What truly matters in the movement is our collective input. The movement does not require much other than our commitment to working together.”
Eng. Mayang added: “Therefore, I welcome Cde Bush Akech Chol’s appointment as our new Chairperson of the National Committee for Information and Communication Technology, as well as the Spokesman for the SSPM/A.”
He asked his replacement not to hesitate to reach out to him for any consultations regarding your department.
“To all the members of the SSPM/A, let’s please extend our support to our new official spokesman, Cde Bush, thank you once again, let’s work,” Mayang concluded from his mobile office in Dajo, Upper Nile Region.
