Someone broke into the Ruweng state coordination office in Juba and stole $20,500 and 80,000 South Sudanese Pounds last week, a government official said.
Maker Bona Deng, coordinator of the Ruweng state coordination office in Juba, told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that the theft occurred last Friday.
“The policeman who was on night duty claimed that thieves broke into the office and stole the money after they tied him up. The thieves stole $20,500 and 80,000 SSP,” he explained.
The coordinator pointed out that police authorities are investigating the theft, adding that the police man who was on night duty and his colleague had been arrested in connection to the theft.
“The two men are the only suspects now,” he said.
