2 women knocked dead in Aweil grisly accident

Local authorities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State’s Aweil East County said two women lost their lives in a traffic accident between Aweil town and Aweil East County over the weekend.

Local authorities in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State’s Aweil East County said two women lost their lives in a traffic accident between Aweil town and Aweil East County over the weekend.

According to sources, a driver identified as Ariik Ariik who was driving from the Auluich area of Aweil town to Wanyjok via Akuem knocked the two women who were walking on the roadside in Akuem.

Aweil East County Commissioner Diing Aher Ngong told Radio Tamazuj that the two women died on the spot.

“The car accident occurred in an area called Akuem because there was a certain driver who was driving a Toyota Prado vehicle from Auluich to Wanyjok via Akuem and he knocked the two women dead,” he said. “We have ordered the arrest of the driver and the deceased women were buried and the case will be followed accordingly.”

Doctors at the Akuem Primary Health Care Center who examined the deceased women concluded that they succumbed to server bleeding and the unavailability of essential healthcare in the area.

 One of the doctors who talked to this publication on condition of anonymity said: “The two women died on the spot due to either cardiac arrest or severe bleeding.”
