At least two people were killed and two others wounded in an attack by gunmen in Pochalla area in South Sudan’s Boma state, a former local official said.
Former deputy mayor of Pibor town Ogebe Omot Ochan said that a fight erupted on Monday when gunmen believed to be from Murle community ambushed farmers who were going to their farms in Nyium area which is located south of Pochalla.
Jwom Kwot, a police officer from Nyium and one attacker were killed during the fighting that continued till Tuesday morning.
The incident comes less than a week after Anyuak chiefs signed a peace deal in order to end inter-communal conflicts.
