At least two people were killed, three others wounded and two children abducted in an attack in Pochalla County of South Sudan’s Boma State on Monday evening by gunmen suspected to be from Murle tribe, a local source said.

At least two people were killed, three others wounded and two children abducted in an attack in Pochalla County of South Sudan’s Boma State on Monday evening by gunmen suspected to be from Murle tribe, a local source said.

The two people killed were identified as Amanga Philip and Nuer Ojwah.

The source told Radio Tamazuj that the attackers stormed Lokri area, killing two people and wounding three others. He added that two children were also abducted during the attack.

 “We have just received information that the criminals have attacked Pochalla on the side of Lokri. Two women were killed, three people wounded and two children were abducted,” the source said.

The attack follows a recent order by Boma Governor Ismail Konyi that the government would end child abduction and rampant killing incidents committed in the state.
