An SPLA soldier was found dead along the road between Aweil Town and Aweil South County last night, according to a state police official. The soldier had been seen under influence of alcohol prior to his death.

The deceased decided to take a boda-boda to take him to Aweil South County, but the boda boda riders refused to transport him there saying that the soldier was too drunk. The man left alone and after a couple of hours was found dead along the way.

Reportedly, police have questioned several people at Machar Kuch station in Aweil about the incident.

Trader accidentally shoots dead brother

In an unrelated report, a trader shot his brother dead in Yargot Payam in Aweil East County last night.

A police official told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that the trader went and bought a new gun and then started to check it at his home. However, a bullet had already been put inside the gun without his knowledge and it fired unintentionally, killing his brother.

The trader was detained at Yargot police station for investigation.
