2 arrested for cattle rustling in Northern Liech

Authorities in Bul South County of South Sudan’s Northern Liech state have arrested two people on allegations of cattle rustling over the weekend.

Authorities in Bul South County of South Sudan’s Northern Liech state have arrested two people on allegations of cattle rustling over the weekend.

Bul South Commissioner Kuichiang Kuol Gau told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that they received information that 4 people from Mayom area raided more than 20 cattle from the neighbouring Gogrial State.

Kuol said two suspects have been arrested after they were found in possession of 7 stolen cows. He added that the police are still pursuing the other two men.

In other news, Kuol revealed that Bul South, Bul East, Bul North and Bul West commissioners, some army commanders and chiefs met and discussed security issues among the four counties.

According to Kuol, the meeting aimed at creating awareness among the local leadership on peaceful coexistence and resolved to condemn and discourage cattle theft among the communities in the region.
