164 students graduated from Mikese University College in Yambio town in South Sudan’s Gbudue State last Saturday.
The students completed certificates, diplomas and degrees in Business Administration, Agriculture and Education.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Monday, the university’s academic secretary, Andrea Phillip Zangaime said some students also completed short courses in computer science and English Language at the university college.
The university official said the institution has been fully registered, awaiting accreditation by the ministry of higher education.
For his part, the university vice chancellor, Peter Modie urged graduates to stay away from violent acts. He said the university college is recognized by the state government.
Meanwhile, the state governor, Daniel Badagbu said his government would fully support the university college, urging its graduates to be united.
Bazawi Thomas, who represented the graduates, lauded the university’s administration for imparting knowledge to the students.
Started in 2008 as an Internet cafe, Mikese became a university college in 2013.
