The South Sudan National Police Service (SSNPS) has promoted 150 police officers to different ranks in Western Bahr el Ghazal state.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj Wednesday at the state police headquarters in Wau, the state police commissioner, Major General Samuel Ajuong, said that the promotions ranged from the rank of First Lieutenant to Brigadier General.
“I am so delighted with the promotions that happened to our officers from different ranks to our special forces, particularly the police. I want to say that the promotions came in a good way and we will organize an official ceremony for these officers,” Gen. Ajuong said.
One of the officers promoted from Colonel to Brigadier said he was very happy. Another police officer, Majak Atem, said he had stagnated at the rank of Major for seven years and was very happy to find his name among those promoted. HE urged his colleagues in the police service who were not promoted to be patient.
“I thank high-ranking officers above for this action and I want to tell our colleagues that promotion does not occur at the same time. Promotion goes according to steps. Like me, the rank that I am holding was the third in the movement (liberation struggle), I took seven years at the rank of Major, I knew that the rank has its time so my dear brothers, promotions take time,” Col. Atem said.
