15 women suffering from fistula and a man complaining from hernia have been transferred from Aweil to Wau town to undergo operation, local authorities said.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, Simon Malou Malou, Acting Director General of the ministry of health in Aweil said the patients will receive free medical treatment as part of the government policy in collaboration with partners.

Obstetric fistula most commonly occurs among women give birth without access to medical help.
