Police in Wunrok County reported that a baby boy was found Monday morning in Thou Yic area.
Wunrok County Police spokesperson is Malang Ngor Atem told Mayardit FM that a baby was found by the area residents abandoned in the pasture. The mother of the baby is not yet been identified.
“Today morning at around 9 AM a man with a woman brought a baby abandoned on the grass between Thou yic and Awudhur kou. He found a baby crying in the grass at 8 AM morning. A man brought him to the police.”
Malang continued: “The police searched for mother and she wasn’t found. We took him to the hospital and doctor and found that the baby has two weeks since he was born. The doctor said that a baby can remain here in the caring center and no one should come again unless the parents were found.”
Goal hospital clinical officer Dr. Julia Ewraca said the baby is in good condition, healthy and will be taken care of in the hospital until the mother is found, Mayardit FM reported.
She said the baby boy was 3.7 kilograms and 14 days old and no injury was found on the child.
Last month a two year old child was found abandoned under a tree in Malou hol village. Residents attribute hunger as a possible reason for mothers to abandon their children.
