On Wednesday 12 civilians were killed and more than 50 injured in air strikes carried out by government forces in Jikoa, Gabanid in Al Bao locality in Blue Nile state.
Sudan People’s Liberation Movement -North humanitarian secretary Hashim Orta told Radio Tamazuj that the Sudanese army and militias also burned down the villages of Gamar Tum and Gamar Hano on Wednesday forcing more than 100 families to flee.
Orta appealed to the international community and humanitarian organisations to act immediately to rescue the civilians killed and displaced every day by government forces and militias in Blue Nile.
He said the situation is indescribable with no medicine to treat seriously wounded patients.
He also called for the UN security council to pressure the Sudanese government to allow delivery of humanitarian relief with prior conditions to civilians in the region.
