At least 12 children are reported to have died of malnutrition at Wau Teaching Hospital in South Sudan’s State in the past two weeks.
A doctor in charge of health told Radio Tamazuj the 12 children died due to severe malnutrition.
The doctor, who preferred anonymity, complained about lack of medical staff at the health facility because some medical personnel are on strike.
Malnutrition is a condition that results from eating a diet in which nutrients are either not enough or are too much such that the diet causes health problems.
