12 burn survivors return from treatment in Juba to Maridi

Juba Teaching hospital has discharged 12 patients, survivors of the fuel tanker explosion in Mambe Payam, after a month of treatment in Juba. They had been receiving treatment for burns sustained in the tragic explosion.

The survivors arrives Maridi on Monday to join their families. Upon their arrival at Maridi airport they were welcome by the County Commissioner Hon Ismail Fatalah Abdualah thanked God for his protection and encourage the survivors to be strong.

Lisas Mahamad ,a 13 years old boy survivor, thanked God and the people in Juba for their support when they were in the hospital. He says he is now feeling better than before with no pain. He said he had been burned on his back, hands and legs. He says the doctor gave them drugs and advised them not stay in the sun, move in the grass or do heavy work.

This is the first group of survivors to return to Maridi out of about 69 who had been taken to Juba, seven of whom passed away.
