Local authorities in Sudan’s South Kordofan State have arrested 11 suspects in connection with the killing of civilians after attacks on al-Sanadra village in Abbasiya Tagali locality last month, a local official said.

At least 8 people were reported killed and several others injured in an attack by armed groups on al-Sanadra village.

Daud Abu Kalam, Abbasiya Tagali Locality Commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj that 11 suspects were arrested in connection with the attack, saying they opened a case against those who attached the village.

“Now we have opened a case against those who were behind the attack, so about 11 people have been arrested so far and they will be presented before the court,” said Abu Kalam.

Separately, Abu Kalam said that he issued an order banning motorcycles in the locality, stressing that whoever violates the order will be punished.
