10 members of Sudan’s National Dialogue removed over critical opinions

About 10 members have been removed from Sudan's National Dialogue committees so far because of critical views, according to Dr. Saad-Eddin Mohammed Al-Tayib, ex-member of the governance committee.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Saad-Eddin, who was removed from the committee, described the ongoing National Dialogue in Friendship Hall as a "deal". He called on political parties to initiate a genuine dialogue in order to reach solutions to the Sudanese problem.

Separately, the dialogue coordinating body also known as the 7+7 committee was scheduled to hold a meeting on Sunday to discuss a report presented by the General Secretariat and committees engaging with opposition groups inside and outside the country, besides the arrangements for the General Conference on 6 August.

But multiple sources told Radio Tamazuj that there were differences within the 7+7 committee over groups that are opposing the dialogue.

For his part, a member of the committee, Fadul Al Saed Shoaib, denied any differences between members of the dialogue coordinating body, saying efforts are continuing in harmony with patriotic will.

Shoaib told Ashrooq TV that their meeting aims at discussing the General Secretariat report and achievements of some committees engaging with the opposition group, the National Alliance for Change and Future Force group.
